It’s official: Marsala is the color of 2015!
Now, what exactly is marsala, you ask? According to the color pros over at Pantone, who announce what the next year’s breakout hue will be every 365 days, marsala is much more than a tasty wine to help you season your chicken. It’s also a lovely terra-cotta red shade—and it’s about to be everywhere in one month’s time.
Not to say we haven’t seen the signs! Khloe Kardashian (at Elton John‘s Oscar party in March), Blake Lively (in Cannes in May, above), and Zoe Saldana (promoting Guardians of the Galaxy in July) all chose the tone for big events this year, cluing us in to the pigment’s growing popularity. Bonus: All of the ladies, with their various hair, skin, and eye colors, looked gorgeous in marsala!
