The Met Costume Institute Gala is often referred to as the "East Coast Oscars" and with good reason: it's fashion that Hollywood's hottest celebs come out to celebrate. And as a result, the glamour quotient is off the charts.
Monday night's fashion fete was the most star-studded one to date, with everyone from Beyonce and Blake Lively to Taylor Swift and Kristen Stewart hitting the red carpet to honor late designer Alexander McQueen. So many celebs, so many gorgeous and over-the-top looks! But we narrowed it down to our top picks of the evening.
While Gisele Bundchen has an unfair advantage, being that she's a genetically blessed Brazilian supermodel, the 30-year-old absolutely killed it in a strapless, bright-red archive Alexander McQueen gown with Van Cleef & Arpels earrings. Plus, she had one of the most coveted accessories of the night: hubby Tom Brady.
Sarah Jessica Parker, 46, who was close friends with McQueen, once again confirmed her style icon status in a high-necked, glittering gown by the designer, which she paired with Fred Leighton earrings and jade green heels.
Fashion superstar Diane Kruger, 34, donned an embellished nude-and-black Jason Wu dress with a thigh-high slit, which she paired with a Jimmy Choo bag and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.
Other stars who wowed the crowd: Madonna in a blue silk Stella McCartney gown, Brooklyn Decker in a eye-popping pink Michael Kors Collection long sleeve dress, Ashley Greene in a one-of-a-kind nude Donna Karan design, and Jennifer Hudson in a gray Vera Wang creation.
