And FLOTUS, 50, made sure everyone knew it when she gathered fashion designers, editors, and tastemakers at the White House for a Fashion Education Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
When asked at the conference for aspiring fashion students to learn about the industry if the First Lady has tried a pair of the slimming undies, Mrs. Obama swiftly replied, “We all wear them with pride!”
Throughout the event, President Barack Obama’s wife donned a navy blue halter dress, designed by one of the workshop’s participants: Natalya Koval, who attends the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
"We want you to see firsthand that a solid education and the willingness to work hard is really at the core of what it’s going to take to achieve your goals: education and hard work." —The First Lady to #FashionEdu Thank you to all the leaders in the fashion industry who encouraged the students at today's Fashion Education Workshop to #ReachHigher in their education.
And Obama wasn’t the only lady—or gentleman—who looked chic at the event! Vera Wang played style teacher for the day, alongside fellow designers Zac Posen, Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, and Diane von Furstenberg, as well as J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
“We want you to see firsthand that a solid education and the willingness to work hard is really at the core of what it’s going to take to achieve your goals: education and hard work,” Obama told the students at the event, adding a thank you on Instagram to all the “leaders” who traveled to the capital for the day.

But from the Instagram evidence, it looks like the pros were just as excited to be at the White House as the students! Some even sneaked outside to take photos in front of the “Maison Blanche.” “Great education starts at the very top @whitehouse. Honored to be part of #FashionEDU with @michelleobama,” Posen captioned a happy Instagram photo.
