He sure did clean up nice!
Whether you loved or hated Neil Patrick Harris as the host of the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 22, in Hollywood, there’s no denying that the man turned it out for his big moment.
The How I Met Your Mother alum and Broadway vet, 41, modeled no less than five colorful tuxedos at the Oscars, and GQ.com went behind the scenes at all of his fittings, capturing just how a man and his stylist (in this case, Sam Spector) get the perfect style for Hollywood’s biggest event of the year.
The week before the Oscars, all five of Harris’ red carpet and host looks—from Tom Ford, Valentino, Brunello Cucinelli, Dunhill, and Zegna Couture—were in place. Which, for Spector, meant that the party had only just begun. “Oh hell no [I’m not done],” Spector said. “Up until the last minute I’ll be ensuring that the fit is perfect. I’ll be there with a shoehorn and tying his laces for him.”
That’s dedication—and indeed, all of his hard work paid off, as Harris’ sleek, sexy, textured tuxes fit him to a T.
