Everybody, rock your body—Nick Carter is coming to Dancing With the Stars! As Us Weekly exclusively revealed on Wednesday, Aug. 26, the Backstreet Boys‘ blonde babe will be joining ABC’s immensely popular dance competition series. Which got Us thinking—boy, what an edge this Boy has.
Carter, 35, is a member of one of the most successful pop groups of all time, which means that he took part in some of the ’90s most memorable music videos—with the most incredible costumes (or lack there of sometimes!).
So, being such dutiful nostalgia freaks, we combed back through BSB’s best clips to bring you the styles—and dance moves—we hope to see repeated come Monday, Sept. 14, when the 21st season of the series premieres. Quit playing games, and get scrolling!
“Larger Than Life” (1999)
The mechanical astronaut suits! Which, we must point out, they did before One Direction—or Christopher Nolan, for that matter. (Plus, who can resist the robot?) 1999 is definitely a contender for his “Most Memorable Year.”
“Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” (1996)
We’re just going to go ahead and call this now: Nick as a mummy for the requisite Halloween special in October. Some “Thriller”-esque dance moves. Be there or don’t be an original.
“Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” (1999)
You know what lonely looks like? A sweet fedora and turtleneck combo. Let’s save this bad boy for a ’40s theme night, preferably to a jazz tune. With jazz hands.
“We’ve Got It Goin’ On” (1996)
Those chest pumps. That chambray. 10’s across the board.
“Quit Playing Games With My Heart” (1996)
Er, for the newly minted wet T-shirt contest night? Please, ABC?
“I Want It That Way” (1999)
All white, all night. How else could you want it?
