Glam is the new black!
For the 67th Emmy Awards on Sept. 20, the cast of Orange Is the New Black, which is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, is calling on their glam squads to prep for the red carpet. Find out just what Laverne Cox, Laura Prepon, and Danielle Brooks have on the books leading up to Sunday.

“My biggest prep is to get a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast,” Cox tells Us Weekly. “I will probably have egg whites with tomato and mushrooms — and some bacon on the side.”
Although she picked her dress six weeks ago, Cox, 31, is leaving her hair and makeup decisions to the last minute. “Christina Pacelli, my stylist, sent photos of me in the dress from my last fitting to Ursula Stephens, who is doing my hair, and Deja Smith, who is doing my makeup,” Cox tells Us. “We want them to be inspired based on the dress, so they’ll come with ideas the day of and we will create together.”
Prepon, who enjoys a massage and a facial “to flush out toxins” before big events, will also depend on her dress for her hair-spiration. “Usually a couple of weeks before an awards show, I work with my hairstylist, Jonathan Colombini, to start bouncing ideas around for my hair,” Prepon, 35, tells Us. “His eye always catches something on the dress that speaks to him that influences my cut, length, and color.”
While she gets her hair colored a few days before the carpet and Colombini is with her for a few hours before she has to make her way to the Microsoft Theater in L.A., that doesn’t mean Prepon leaves him behind. “He is in the car with me en route, and just before I get out, he squeezes in a final touch-up before sending me on my way,” she tells Us.
Brooks, 26, makes her gown the center of her look, too. “I always start with the dress and then work around it from the shoes and jewelry to collaborating with my hair and makeup team,” she tells Us. One item she is making sure to have on hand: a comfortable change of footwear. “My must-have is flat shoes for after the carpet,” she tells Us.
Seasons 1 through 3 of Orange Is the New Black are currently streaming on Netflix.
