Ever since Whitney Port announced via her website in July that she was thinking of ditching her "apricot gingersnap" color and going back to her California blonde locks, it's been a guessing game of "did she, or didn't she?" when it comes to her hair color.
But the City alum finally confirmed in a blog post on Thursday that she has returned to her sunnier strands.

"Recently my family convinced me it was time to go back to blonde, so yesterday I paid a visit to my colorist Johnny Ramirez," the 26-year-old reality star turned fashion designer wrote. "I couldn't bring myself to let go of the red entirely, so I went with a somewhat strawberry blonde color."
Since Port's new hair hue is gorgeous but also very subtle, Us Weekly went straight to Ramirez of Beverly Hills' Neil George salon, to find out how he created her lighter, brighter shade — and what's next for the star.
"I softly highlighted the ends to create more of a kid-color contrast, then I glossed her up with a gloss by Redken Shades EQ," Ramirez told Us. "I call it Strawberry Baby Blonde."

Her hair pro went on to say that in Port's case, where the hair is being dyed a lighter hue, maintaining the health of her strands is most important.
"I am gradually taking her to our goal shade, which is one of her signature (timeless) colors that she's had in the past," said Ramirez. "Luckily, the colors in her hair are all in the same family, so it all flows naturally during the process [of taking her back]."
Ramirez has colored celeb heads like Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow. He specializes in color correction and ideas and pens them all in his blog, boxno216.com.
Port isn't the only California girl to return to her roots this week: fellow Hills alum Audrina Patridge swapped her rich, dark brown shade for a blonder, ombre color.
