Piper Perabo is not fancy. Most days, the star of ABC’s Notorious (premiering September 22 at 9 p.m.) carries a Friends of the Library canvas tote. “I love that it’s washable,” she tells Us Weekly. “If I spill green juice or coffee on it, I toss it in the machine.” The actress, 39, wed to actor-director Stephen Kay, comes clean about its contents.
Up in Flames
“I have these Palo Santo natural wood incense sticks. I light them everywhere with matches from Jack’s Wife Freda restaurant in New York. I’m an investor.”
Top Scent
“I did a movie in Rome this spring, and I bought this Byredo hair perfume my gorgeous Italian hairdresser would spray in my hair. It’s so amazing!”
OG GPS
“Recently I was in Santa Cruz, California, with my husband, so I have a map of the city. Phones tell you where to go, but you don’t get a sense of where you are or how big the city is.”
Sowing Lesson
“I have wildflower seeds in a Ziploc bag because I’d read about guerrilla gardening in the ’60s. It’s a mitzvah to throw flowers out there.”
Smart Mouth
“An actor I did a play with told me your breath smells good and teeth are clean if you eat a green apple! As an actor, I think it’s thoughtful to carry one.”
Also in Perabo’s Friends of the Library canvas tote: an absentee ballot (she’ll be in California when it’s time to vote in New York), a black-and-white composition book, a Notorious script, a Surratt blonde eyebrow pencil, Le Labo solid perfume, Ouai hair texturizing spray, a photo strip of her and her husband, her passport, a ticket stub from the play Oslo, a New York City MetroCard, a silver iPhone 6 in a clear case, a Goyard wallet, library cards, a pair of Tom Ford men’s sunglasses with prescription lenses, oregano oil, Prius car keys, Dior sunglasses and a jar of water.
