Courtesy of the Today show on Wednesday, Nov. 12, viewers got a sneak peek at Her Royal Highness’ auction dresses. The collection includes a petal pink dress by Catherine Walker, worn by the Princess when she attended a performance of La Boheme at the Savoy Theatre in London in 1993 (estimated to be $60,000 to $80,000).

Also up for grabs is a Zandra Rhodes evening gown, worn by Prince William‘s mum to the Birthright benefit at the London Palladium in 1987. (This is one estimated to be worth between $80,000 to $100,000.)

So what should one do with a Princess Diana dress once he’s won? “In a case like this, you don’t want to wear it. It’s for a museum, or someone who’s going to appreciate these is going to buy these in the auction,” said Darren Julien, the President of Julien’s Auctions, while visiting the morning show.

Not only will Princess Diana’s dresses be sold to the highest bidder, a slice of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s wedding cake is also for sale, sealed in a presentation tin. (The house is expecting to get $1,000 to $2,000 for the royal dessert.) Interesting fact: According to Martin Nolan, the auction house’s Executive Director, a fruit cake like the prince and princess’ is at its best 30 months in, so it’s actually the perfect time to snack on it.

After the collection makes its way back to Beverly Hills, the auction will take place on Dec. 5 and 6.
