All hail Rihanna! While she might not have the official regal pedigree of newly minted Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, RiRi attended the London premiere of Ocean’s 8 on Wednesday, June 13, rocking a crimson lip look that her makeup artist Priscilla Ono aptly described as “royal red.” To create the perfectly defined pout (seriously, it’s a work of art), the Fenty Beauty global makeup artist lined and filled in the singer-cum-actress’ lips with the brand’s Mattemosielle Plush Matte Lipstick in Ma’Damn. And while her velvety lips certainly served as the focal point of the face, we’re obsessed with the entire bronze goddess look, and we’ve got the step-by-step guide to re-creating it.
Calling the summery glam makeup “casual slay” on her Instagram, Ono first prepped the “Umbrella” singer’s skin with the Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, which is great for smoothing and preventing shine (i.e. it’s a summer beauty must). From there, she evened out her complexion with the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 340. The ultra-popular shade — described as being for “tan skin with cool pink undertones” — had been sold-out through both Sephora and Fenty Beauty, but, not to worry, it’s back! She then used the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Peach as a concealer to spot treat where necessary.
As for that killer contour and glow, the pro employed the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Mocha (a few shades darker than RiRi’s base) to sculpt. The rosy Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Moscow Mule/Ginger Binge, meanwhile, was used as blush to add a subtle flush to the apples of the cheeks, while the Hu$tla Baby shade (a shimmering champagne) from the Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby Killawatt duo served as a highlighter. To give the songstress that otherworldly glow, Ono carried the luminous hue all the way up to the temples.
A simple smokey eye and dusting of the Invisimatte Blotting Powder (another warm-weather makeup savior) finished off the look, while a sky-high topknot by mane man Yusef only added to the summer-ready vibe. Oh, and that custom metallic Poiret frock, Konstantino jewelry and Christian Louboutin clutch didn’t hurt either!
