Fourteen karat, baby! Rose gold eye shadow — that gorgeous mixture of copper and molten shades — is the red carpet’s new romantic beauty obsession. Even better? It flatters everyone, including porcelain-skinned Amber Heard and caramel-toned Eva Longoria.
Nina Dobrev worked a rosy smoky eye — crafted by celeb makeup artist Beau Nelson — on the red carpet at the Golden Globes postparties in January. To add more dimension to the 27-year-old Vampire Diaries alum’s brown peepers, he layered the rose bronze and beige hues from the Olivia Palermo x Ciate palette ($39, bloomingdales.com).
Meanwhile, makeup artist Melanie Iglesias complemented Heard’s fair complexion with a softer take on the trend. She applied Sisley’s Phyto-Eye Twist No. 9 ($50, sisley-paris.com) to both lids and spread the creamy formula to the crease with her fingers.
And finally, Longoria, who boasts the darkest features of the three, took the boldest route. The Telenovela actress, 40, played up her chocolate eyes with the matte brown L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos in Mademoiselle Pink ($6, drugstore.com) both above and below her lash line, making her eyes look even bigger.
