SJP's on the case! Sarah Jessica Parker knows a good accessory when she sees one, and the Sex and the City actress turned to social media Tuesday, May 12 to help a friend find her beloved missing earring. The star's pal? None other than Us Weekly Fashion Director Sasha Charnin Morrison, who lost one of her favorite Gas Bijoux chandelier earrings in New York City.
Taking to Instagram to post about her missing earring after doing a thorough sweep of several city blocks in an effort to find her earring, Charnin Morrison had no idea Parker would share her plea with fans. "SJP and I follow each other and something compelled her to pick up my post, go full 'CSI 7th Avenue' and repost it," Charnin Morrison explains.
The Fashion Director has known Parker since childhood, when her father, Martin Charnin — the creator, director, and lyricist of Annie — cast Parker as Annie on Broadway back in 1977. "I was always at the theatre and we became friends while she was in the title role. We are a year apart and have remained friends since then," she added.
"I'm sure you know the feeling when you lose something," the actress wrote on Instagram to her 1.5 million followers. "If anyone should see this little gem on or near 6th Ave. and 9th St., let @SashaCharninMorrison know. She would be mighty appreciative."
"I love her for even caring and have deep admiration and appreciation for sending out the word, when I know she's really busy," Charnin Morrison — who did not ask or compensate her friend for posting — continued. "I'm grateful because she’s not giving up."
Parker is no stranger to performing random acts of kindness across her New York City hometown. In October 2014, the mom of James Wilkie, 12, and twins Marion and Tabitha, 5, returned a $4,700 check she found on the sidewalk to its rightful owner, and just last month attempted to find the person who lost their pay stub in her West Village neighborhood.
