John Mayer Almost Turned Himself Into a Hologram With This Over-Photoshopped Selfie

So good to see my friend Ricky again. It's been a while.

Ease up on the filter there, buddy. 

A typically quiet John Mayer stepped out of character when he shared the selfie to end all selfies via Instagram on Monday, Dec. 29.

Posted up with College Humor co-founder Ricky Van Veen, Mayer, 37, was airbrushed to perfection in the close-up shot. "So good to see my friend Ricky again. It's been awhile," the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" crooner wrote in the photo caption.

The singer looks almost cartoonish in the startling photo, as many of the details on his face were blurred out.

This would be the first time Mayer has ever abused the filtering tool on his account. In light of all the celebs involved in photoshop scandals — like slimming waistlines and creating unusual thigh gaps — he could very well be taking a final dig at the year in vanity before it closes out.
