#TBT—way back!
In honor of the fact that Taylor Swift's 1989 album sold 1.287 million units last week, breaking all first-week sales records since 2002, the bonafide pop star posted a #TBT from the early aughts. As it turns out, we're not the only ones who made some poor hair moves back then!
"The last time an album sold as many copies as 1989 did [in its] first week, it was 2002, I was 12, and going through my 'braids phase'," Swift, 24, captioned the hair-larious throwback picture, signed with the hashtag #nofilternecessary.
By the way, the 2002 album in question is Eminem's The Eminem Show, which sold 1.322 million units its first week out.
But back to T-Swizz—check those cornrows! Questionable beauty moves (that we all made) aside, the "Shake It Off" singer is fully recognizable, thanks to her blue peepers, long blonde locks, and bow-lipped smile (pre-braces!). In addition to the classic summer vacation hairstyle, Swift rocked a black T-shirt with some multicolored letters—only slightly different from the crop tops she currently prefers.
