It’s official: Retro Tay is back! Since she started dating Tom Hiddleston in June, Taylor Swift has been rocking her old-school threads — i.e. her flared dresses and her vintage-inspired heels. And as of Monday, August 8, the signature curls she burst onto the scene with are back, too!
While leaving an NYC gym, the “Blank Space” singer, 26, modeled her bright-blonde tresses in loose waves, parted to one side. She worked an asymmetrical top, dotted leggings, a printed sports bra and her beloved Ray-Bans.
Swift famously rocked her natural curls through three album drops — her self-titled debut (2006), Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2010). Then, in February 2012, she graced the cover of Vogue with pin-straight locks. Two years later, she took a page out of her BFF Karlie Kloss‘ book and chopped her hair into a lob, nearly always blown out to perfection. But no more!
The transformation comes one day after the “Wildest Dreams” diva performed with Nelly at Kloss’ 24th birthday party in the Hamptons. With Swift clad in black, off-the-shoulder crop top and skirt, the pair duetted the rapper’s classic “Dilemma.” At one point, she stopped to shake it before walking up to an unidentified man and giving him a quick lek on the cheek.
Of course, this all comes on the heels of Swift’s drama with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, released snippets of a private phone call between the pop star and the “Runaway” rapper, 38, in an attempt to prove that she approved of his controversial “Famous” lyrics.
However, while the internet obsessed over the feud, Swift and her new love, Hiddleston, 35, continued their whirlwind romance around the world, jetting to Rhode Island, England, Italy and Australia before Swift returned home to the states. And all the while, the 1989 hitmaker modeled her classic crop-top-and-flared-skirt combos with ankle-step heels. And yes, she brought back her “classic, red lip thing,” too.
