Teyana Taylor stole the show with her look at the 2026 Met Gala.
The One Battle After Another star, 35, arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday, May 4, wearing a silver fringe-covered dress, complete with a matching hood. She matched the look with a pair of platform silver heels and a dramatic smoky eye for her glam.
A-listers dressed to the nines for the “Fashion Is Art” dress code, in line with the museum’s “Costume Art” theme. The 2026 Met Gala coincided with the debut of the 12,000-square-foot Condé M. Nast Galleries, which curator in charge Andrew Bolton described to Vogue as “a huge moment for the Costume Institute.”
“What connects every curatorial department and what connects every single gallery in the museum is fashion, or the dressed body,” Bolton added. “It’s the common thread throughout the whole museum, which is really what the initial idea for the exhibition was.”
This year’s Met Gala co-chairs were Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour. Lead sponsors Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos also served as honorary chairs.
Taylor took a seat on the Gala Host Committee this year alongside famous members such as Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith and more. The committee was co-chaired by Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz.
Monday’s event marks Taylor’s sixth Met Gala in a row. Last year, the actress posed on the museum steps wearing a red and black rose-themed suit designed by Ruth E. Carter for the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme. She leaned into a more feminine look with another red floral look, this time a floor-length gown designed by The Blonds for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme.
In 2023, Taylor honored the event’s Karl Lagerfeld theme with a custom Thom Browne tweed look featuring hip cut-outs. The previous year, she turned heads in a bold — and big — purple and blue Iris Van Herpen dress for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.”
Taylor’s most revealing Met Gala look came with her debut at fashion’s biggest night in 2021. The Rip star sported a silver strappy Prabal Gurung gown featuring an ab cut-out, thigh-high slit and lengthy train. The theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”
