Bye-bye, blondie! Uma Thurman didn’t just unveil her unretouched headshot at the 2017 Pirelli Calendar reveal in Paris Monday, November 29. The Kill Bill actress also showed off her dark chocolate hair color, startlingly different from her former golden blonde hue.

Thurman, 46, who appears in the coveted calendar alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Nicole Kidman, Robin Wright and Julianne Moore, among others, hit the celebratory event in a black embroidered maxi dress with a leather grommeted waist belt. Like her photo shot by Peter Lindbergh, she went light on the makeup to emphasize her bright blue eyes and high cheekbones.

The mom of three first showed off her new 'do in a November 10 Instagram selfie, while on set for an upcoming movie, Down a Dark Hall. “Greetings from Barcelona!” she captioned. “Back to work with #RodrigoCortés #DownADarkHall.” Aside from a few paparazzi snapshots, the Pirelli unveiling is the first moment that we’ve seen a complete view of her major makeover.

This isn’t the first time that Thurman has caught our attention with her changing glam. In February 2015, she hit a New York City red carpet with a startling new look: minimal eye makeup and a bold red lip.

"I know I look weird!" she later told Savannah Guthrie on the Today show. "I don't know, I guess nobody liked my makeup."

Indeed, makeup artist Troy Surratt confirmed that he tried something new. "We experimented with the makeup," he told Refinery29. "We did a much stronger brow and a bold lip for a French sort of feel. The way I shaded her eyebrows with the pencil, I created an uplifting effect. Then, I finished with a shimmering, silky-beige shadow on her lids, and went with no mascara at all. Sort of a reaction against all the fake lashes we've been seeing on the red carpet."
