Man of his word. Kanye West gifted a bunch of paparazzi with his Adidas Originals Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers Wednesday, August 24.
The generous gesture comes after he lightheartedly promised to make it rain Yeezys — which originally retailed for $200 before selling out completely — for the photogs nearly a year prior. “One day, I’m going to be able to give you all Yeezys. All the paps. Next year,” the “Famous” rapper, 39, told TMZ cameras while exiting his car in L.A. in November 2015.
Now, one of those paps, named Jack Arshakyan, provided photographic evidence that West fulfilled his promise. “Thx to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for hooking me and my fellow papz up with Yeezy boost 350. @kimkardashian,” he captioned a pic of four shoe boxes with the names of various paparazzi attached.
But ‘Ye isn’t the only one with a generous shoe streak. Back in December 2015, Kardashian, who had just given birth to her second child, Saint West, now 8 months, donated 1,000 pairs of shoes in the middle of the night.
The idea to give away even more Yeezys came to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, while she was watching a cable TV show. “I’m up breastfeeding & watching this show Dish Nation,” she wrote on Twitter. “I heard the cutest story of a girl who is trying to find 1000 pairs of shoes to donate to this charity Soles For Souls! They helped her during Hurricane Katrina. I think I know the designer of Shoe of the Year Award!”
She continued, “Kanye and I would love to donate those 1000 shoes to Soles For Souls. So whoever you are…these shoes are for you! We will contact Soles For Souls! You reached your goal, so proud of you!!! xoxox.”
