Waist Gang Society, aka Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian's go-to company for stomach-slimming corsets, is being sued in a class-action suit.
The lawsuit alleges that the Florida-based company, which sells a variety of corsets in different shapes and sizes, deceives customers about the effects of its products.
"These 'waist trainers' do redistribute fat to other portions of the user's body, thereby creating the perception of a fit and trim waist, however, Defendant claims that the Products actually burn fat and control the user's weight," according to the complaint, obtained by the Daily Mail and filed in California by Sara Hawes. "This is completely false and misleading. The Products have absolutely no effect on fat loss."
The brand's shapewear includes products with names like "No More Back Fat!" and "Sweat Fitness Belt," with a range of prices from $38 to $160.
The company's founder, PreMadonna, who started Waist Gang Society in her condo, previously said on the website (according to the Daily Mail), "it's a unique and efficient way to help women shed unwanted inches and feel good about themselves — no diet and exercise required.”
The suit demands $5 million and an injunction against Waist Gang Society for allegedly misleading customers with their marketing strategy. (The Kardashian sisters are not named in the suit.)
