The web went wild last week when Whitney Port shared a glammed-up photo of herself — wearing bridal white — via Instagram, complete with the caption, "Mrs. Rosenman." But the Hills alum wasn't trying to reveal that she had secretly gotten married — she was simply showing off her ultra-romantic hairstyle, which she wore to her bridal shower on Oct. 17.
As Port, 30, hinted in her caption, the pretty 'do — a twisted chignon — came courtesy of the 901 Too Salon's Anthony Holguin, who broke it down just for Us.
"I started by spraying her [blow-dried] hair with Unite Boosta Spray to give her a lot of volume," Holguin told Us Weekly. "Then, I decided to give her hair waves with a 1-inch iron, that way the hair would have texture, too. I also spritzed her hair with texturizing spray, to make it feel just a little bit dirty — that give me better control of the hair."
After that, Holguin got twisted. "I sectioned out her hair into 2-inch sections, starting from behind the ear, then started twisting them. After I twisted each section, I made it bigger just by adding more texture with Unite Expanda Dust, then pinned it in place, slowly creating a chignon. I did about four sections in the back of her head, leaving the top smooth and full of volume," he shared.
Once the party in the back was complete, he made his way to the front. "When I had blown out her hair, I dried her bangs so that they would have lots of volume," Holguin said. "So all I did was pin them back into the bun and spray them in place."
To finish, he pulled at a few pieces for a "messy but cool" look, and the bride-to-be was set to go! She slipped into her white lace Asilio dress and blue shoes by Sophia Webster, and was off.
