Leave it to Gwyneth Paltrow to create the perfect summer wardrobe. Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop has teamed up with Lilly Pulitzer on a five-piece capsule collection featuring an original pretty-in-pink print dreamed up by Gwyneth and the Lilly team that will take you from work to weekend, backyard BBQ to beach wedding in a snap.
Inspired by vintage photography and iconic patterns, Gwen and co. created a pink and white floral pattern cheekily called “Kiss Kiss” as an homage to the glamour of the 1960s — with a modern twist. “I felt so inspired looking through Slim Aaron’s photos of these glamorous, elegant women dressed in Lilly Pulitzer,” Paltrow said in a statement. “The opportunity to reinvent the aesthetic has been a lot of fun.”
A blend of Goop’s minimalism and Lilly’s preppy Palm Beach roots, the collaboration features two dresses — a mini and maxi — plus a blouse, floor-length skirt and tote bag. Mira Fain, executive vice president of product design and Development at Lilly Pulitzer, called working with Gwyneth “exciting, fun and creative,” though it’s not the first time the brands have teamed up. In 2009, Goop and Lilly designed a limited-edition bathing suit in support of the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, but this marks their first foray into dry-land apparel.
