Born to a six-time Emmy award-winning journalist, sportscaster Erin Andrews seems to have followed in her father's footsteps. In 2000 Andrews graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications.
This University of Florida alum is no stranger to the entertaining crowds from the sidelines: she was once a member of UF's Gator Basketball Dazzlers dance team. She began using her sports knowledge as a freelance reporter with Fox Sports Florida South. Andrews quickly moved through the sports reporting ranks, and after a brief stint at the Sunshine Network, she began hosting studio roundtables on Turner Sports and did sideline reporting for TBS.
Andrews began working for ESPN in 2004. She made her debut as a reporter for the network's national hockey league coverage and currently offers commentary for ESPN’s College Football Saturday telecast, the Saturday Primetime college basketball game, Big Ten college basketball coverage and Major League Baseball. She also provides reports and features on Great Outdoor Games coverage.
The journalist was voted "America's Sexiest Sportscaster" by Playboy in 2007 and 2008. In summer 2009, Andrews faced controversy when video footage of a naked woman said to be the sportscaster surfaced on the Internet. The next day, Andrews confirmed she was indeed the woman in the clip, filmed through a hotel peephole, and that the footage was shot without her consent. Michael Barrett, a Chicago man charged with interstate stalking and taking and posting the videos, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Andrews competed on the tenth season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars with professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She was announced as the new season's host in 2014.
