Bald move, Hugh! Fresh off his stint hosting the 2014 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 8, Hugh Jackman debuted a brand-new look via Instagram. On Tuesday, June 10, he shared a picture of himself with a shaved head—part of his transformation to play a pirate in the upcoming Peter Pan movie, Pan.

"Blackbeard is born," the Aussie actor, 45, captioned the photo, which shows him sitting in a chair and staring up at the camera. As seen in the shot, the top of his head is completely smooth and hair-free, but he still sports a full beard and mustache.

Jackman is one of many stars in the mysterious fairy tale flick from Warner Bros. Helmed by Pride & Prejudice director Joe Wright, the movie boasts a roster of A-list celebs including Amanda Seyfried (Wendy Darling's mother, Mary), Rooney Mara (Tiger Lily), and Garrett Hedlund (Captain Hook). Newcomer Levi Miller will play the title role. (The casting of Mara, 29, in the Native American role of Tiger Lily incited some controversy earlier this year.)

Little else is known about the film, except that it puts a new spin on J.M. Barrie's classic story. According to Variety, the script—penned by Jason Fuchs—is set during World War II and follows an orphan who is kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverland.

Pan is set for release in July 2015. Jackman also has several other movies lined up, including an untitled Wolverine sequel and X-Men: Apocalypse.
