Kerry Washington has been working shoulder-length tresses since before Scandal's debut in 2012—but no more!
The Emmy-nominated actress, 38, debuted a chin-length bob, completely with wispy bangs, on the cover of Ebony magazine's April 2015 issue. Her new 'do also boasted cinnamon highlights, which popped against her natural deep brunette hue.
While the front of the magazine was all about her beauty, the inside focused on the issues close to Washington's heart. The Save the Last Dance alum, who welcomed daughter Isabelle with husband Nnamdi Asomugha in April 2014, talked about her appearance on the 2014 Emmys red carpet, where she spoke out about Michael Brown's shooting in Ferguson, MO, surprising some reporters.
"I was really broken that morning. Watching [Brown's] funeral, I was just broken. And I take all of who I am into a room," Washington told the mag. "That's where my mind was that day. I'm not going to let anyone segment me or make me exclude parts of who I am because they may be threatening."
On the March 5 episode of Scandal, titled "The Lawn Chair," Washington and her castmates took the conversation one step further with a plotline that centered on the aftermath of an unarmed young black man shot by a white police officer.
