RIP, Lip Smackers!
Bonne Bell, the cosmetics company behind Lip Smackers, is shuttering its facilities, which means that we might have to say goodbye to our favorite middle school lip glosses and balms for good. (Tear!)
For those who don't recall, Lip Smackers' tiny twist tubes hosted all kind of deliciously flavored gloss, including Tropical Punch, Vanilla, Cotton Candy, and the fan favorite, Dr. Pepper. Plus, back in the '90s, the technicolor packaging matched our Lisa Frank backpacks to perfection.
More than a few distraught souls tweeted about the news:
Have you seen its the end of Lip Smackers lip balm?! What?! I mean come on, how many of us wore this as our first real lip product as a kid?

But there is a silver lining: Markwins International announced on Thursday, Jan. 29, that it had bought out Bonne Bell, meaning that they could theoretically revive the gloss line. And for those of you traveling or based over the pond, Smackers will still be distributed in Europe, Australia, and Asia.
