Lo Bosworth Debuts New Bob Hairstyle: Watch Her Freak Out in a Video!

A new season and a new city call for a new ‘do: Lo Bosworth chopped her long blonde hair into a blunt bob on Wednesday, Sept. 17, and Us Weekly was there for the drastic makeover!

The Hills star, 27, decided to finally celebrate (and accept) her New York City move with a change she’s been considering for months: to go super short, courtesy of Riawna Capri, owner of the Nine Zero One salon in West Hollywood. But the change-up didn’t stop there: Bosworth also went super-blonde, with the hue applied by Justin Anderson from The Chris McMillan Salon in Beverly Hills and a custom color kit by dpHUE (creative director Justin Anderson).

“I knew that I wanted to get some pretty serious color involved, so I wanted to do it after the summer was over, so that the oceans and pools wouldn’t ruin the brand new beautiful color,” Bosworth exclusively told Us.

As for the cut—snipped from waist-length into a bob—she credits the Big Apple. “I really wanted to do something completely different. And living in New York, this look is really in all of a sudden,” said Lauren Conrad’s bestie. “I’ve always had this long California-blonde hair. So this feels to me like the next step in my evolution as a New Yorker!”

But that doesn’t mean that the woman behind The Lo Down, Bosworth’s personal style blog, isn’t going to miss her mermaid hair and all she could do with it. “I’m totally going to miss it! It [could create] my Lara Croft hairdo,” she pined. “But this is a new adventure, and I can’t wait to get home and style it myself.”

Before she left for an evening with her curling iron, however, Bosworth reminisced about Conrad’s Sept. 13 nuptials, at which she served as one of the bride’s 10 bridesmaids. “It was so much fun!” she gushed. “It was really pretty.”

To snag Bosworth’s natural, sun-kissed color for yourself, check out dpHue’s ColorBAR, a multiservice hair color bar offering guests color application, when it opens in Los Angeles Oct. 2014.
