Three cheers for the gold, purple and blue! Sanya Richards-Ross, a track-and-field athlete who’s training for the 2016 Rio Olympics, is Formula X’s color curator for June 2016. Her collection, #ColorCurators: Sanya Richards-Ross Edition, boasts three vibrant nail shades ahead of the Olympics. The collection is available for $12.50 each at Sephora and sephora.com only during the month of June.
In a May 27 Instagram post, she described Warrior as “my blue. This color represents what it means to me to wear the red, white, and BLUE! The spirit it takes represent this great country.” Victory Lap, a pearlescent gold, reminds her of “the feeling you have when you achieve your goals. Reminds me of the sun and being a light in this world.” And Lioness, a bold purple, is her favorite color. “Reminds me to be strong and always believe in myself. Be bold and fearless!”
Richards-Ross, who won gold in the 400-meter race at the 2012 Summer Olympics, holds many honors and considers this a unique one. “Hands down my most fun collaboration,” she Instagrammed on May 26.
And in a release from the brand, she explained that the colors hold a special meaning behind them. “The common thread in this collection is the idea of excellence. I’ve always strived for excellence in what I do, and I want these colors to inspire you and drive you to do something big, bold and great,” she said.
The Olympian is Formula X’s sixth color curator and joins the likes of Ashley Graham, blogger Aimee Song and beauty blogger Patrick Starr.
