Looks like Britney Spears' hard work is paying off! Just a few weeks after appearing in a bikini on the cover on Shape -- and telling the magazine about the lengths she goes to in order to stay fit -- the "Scream & Shout" singer suited up again in a skimpy, sky-blue two-piece for some poolside R&R at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., on Monday, May 27.
The ruffled halter top and matching side-tie bottoms showcased the pop star's toned, tanned legs and flat abs, which were adorned with her trademark diamond belly ring. She looked healthy and relaxed as she waded into the water, her blonde hair loose and straight.
Those sexy curves don't come easy, though. As the 31-year-old mother of two (to Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6) revealed to Shape, she has to "work harder to keep [her figure]" now that she's in her 30s.
"I like it, then again, I hate it," she told the mag of exercising and watching what she eats. "Dieting is tough...because my specialties are spaghetti, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies."
To stave off those cravings, and to prepare for her upcoming residency in Las Vegas, Spears has been hitting the gym -- hard. "I'm doing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week in addition to a lot of cardio -- hour-long sessions three times a week with my trainer," she told Shape of her fitness regimen.
"The [Vegas] performances won't be simple -- they'll be a massive party from start to finish," she explained. "And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed."
That shouldn't be a problem. Spears has seemed happy and focused in recent months, despite a broken engagement to fiance Jason Trawick in January. Since their split, she's been spotted out and about with new boyfriend David Lucado, whom a source describes to Us Weekly as "really down-to-earth."
