Duchess of weight loss! Fergie, formally known as the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, has shed 50 pounds in just five months. The royal and former Weight Watchers brand ambassador, who was formerly married to Prince Andrew and has been vocal about her struggle with her weight for years, debuted her slimmed-down bod in an exclusive spread with Hello! magazine.
"I used to be so angry," Ferguson told the mag. "I believed I was never going to lose the weight, that I had lost control. I couldn't fit into any of my clothes. I was just drowning in eating, drowning in food." The 55-year-old even had to brave British tabloids labeling her "Duchess of Pork."
So how did she finally lose all the weight?
The mother of two princesses (Beatrice and Eugenie) revealed she cut out sugar and stuck to a "straightforward" exercise regime. A source tells Us Weekly that Ferguson has also been working on her health "with a diet guru" in Verbier, Switzerland.
Fergie, who has since been named an ambassador for the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London, also told the mag it "took courage to go out in public all the years I have been overweight."
"Every time there was a 'Duchess of Pork' or 'Fat Frumpy Fergie' headline," she said, "they didn't have any idea they were reaching to the depths of my soul."
