What baby weight?

Just three weeks after giving birth to daughter Bryn, Real Housewives of New York's Bethenny Frankel is back to a size-4 swimsuit!

PHOTOS: Incredible post-baby bodies

In the new issue of Us Weekly, Frankel, 39, reveals how she's already lost 29 of the 35 pounds she gained while pregnant with Bryn, born May 8.

"I don't believe in diets," says the chef and author of Naturally Thin, who wed Bryn's dad Jason Hoppy March 28.

Frankel stayed active while carrying Bryn, alternating yoga with 45-minute walks three times a week, and practiced portion control with a vegetarian diet.

Still healing since Bryn's C-section birth, the 122-pound star has decreased her walks to 30 minutes and continues to eat low-fat fare. A sample day's menu: a muffin and fruit for breakfast, a veggie sandwich and soup at lunch and BBQ chicken and a half a sweet potato for dinner.

Frankel admits to Us, "I'm still wearing maternity clothes, because they're comfortable." Still, she says, "I"m excited to get into my Louboutins again. No more swollen feet!"

These days, Bethenny looks strangely anorexic. She does NOT look good by any means!

Lay off the woman. My mom was 5'4" and 99 pounds her first OB visit when she was pregnant with me. She gained 21 pounds with me and I was 7lbs 20 inches. She gained 22 pounds with my brother three years later and he was 8lbs 9oz 21 inches and we were both very healthy and a week late. She didn't smoke or drink, many of the excuses I hear for why our generation were "smaller" babies. Everyone's body is different. My OB strongly urged me to gain weight to get pregnant. I did over the course of a year and went from 105 to 115 at 5'7" and now I've stopped ovulating and my hormones are out of whack. Needless to say it's devastating to me and my husband and I should've left nature alone, which my OB has now acknowledged since my mom and all of her sisters (6 of them) were the same way and all got pregnant very easily. Nature has a way of handling things. Everyone's genetics are different.

I don't understand what the big deal is? Is every woman post-pregnancy supposed to be the size of a walrus?

  • June 19, 2010 - 3:16am Tiff

Her body is just like my cousins. My cousin has had 4 kids (a 5 year old, 3 and a half year old, 21 month old, and a 8 month old). And after her last one, her body bounced back so quickly that it made me so jealous. haha, more power to ya Bethenny!

Genetics is a'PIECE' of post baby birth. Other pieces of the contributing factor(s) is called hard-work and determination, which a lot of us women will not admit to - Exercise and what we eat! Chicken/turkey is better than red meat/bacon/sausages. Muffins or begals (limited) is better than DONUTS,CAKE,COOKIES,CANDYBARS ect. It's portion controlled. To make excuses or live in denial of our self-control (or lack of) is comical. And in the end, Unhealthy.

  • June 09, 2010 - 3:02pm huh

it's msotly genetics that help with the post baby body recovery. Seriously what size was she before she got pregnant. And chicken is not vegetarian food. Guess it should read mostly vegetarian diet. Also muffins are not low calorie foods. Muffins are close to donuts in calories.

Can someone please tell me why this woman has "Jowls" she has the weirdest distortioned face ive ever seen. FUGLY people... why they become these so called "celebs" I will never understand.. and dont call her a housewife, she was unmarried when it all started - Look up the defination of housewife these days. All these ladies do NOTHING as normal housewife does, all they do is take care of themselves, dress up and go to parties.. what the hell. Live a real life of a REAL NORMAL housewife, I guarantee you they would never survive it.

To honesty: Enjoy the worship of Ms.Jill, and the negative attitude that you embrace w/her. Your entitled to your opinion. To stellamuse (& few others): I would love and enjoy being your friend.

Some are not following the subject at hand evidently. Just want to hate on Betthany. I agree with another comment--------people are just looking for any, any, any, excuse to talk trash about this woman.

  • June 06, 2010 - 8:04pm honesty

bethenny is the biggest hypocrite on the show, atleast jill's character is open and she passes her comments on camera whereas bethenny just gossips non stop off screen. Remember last season how mean she was and that was acceptable? comparing the way jill treated her and alex to the way bethenny treated and gossiped about alex last season its obvious who is more guilty. Bethenny was horrible and mean and has no right to pass judgement on anyone else. Alex is just sticking on to her for publicity we all know that!please replace the fake housewives aka alex and bethenny with someone with some substance

To Bethany and Jason, I'm happy for your new blessing. No braggin - just facts - I live a fish/vegetarian lifestyle. Given birth to two children (an 8.6 lb. and premmie) and breastfed both. My youngest is 3yrs old and blessed to have them. I eat well, excercise at least 3X a week, and now back to my normal 130pd. weight. With no surgery and a flat tummy though breasts are sufferin a bit (sagging). Honestly, don't think she's self-absorbed rather lives a certain lifestyle and feels staying fit/tone is important. It's not a crime....Rather intelligent way of thinking. Healthy. Formula, we obviously know, is not the ultimate. But millions of kids have been fed that way and amazingly are grown & healthy. I do think there are some who are looking for reasons to slam her...... How about supporting and being happy for her???????????????

  • June 05, 2010 - 1:29am love waited for you

omg you did it and now she is here. I've never seen such a more beautiful baby. I also had a small premie 2 lbs, was scared, she is now 15. I was treated badly until all my sisters went through the same thing. We all gained few lbs. When people say mean things they are ignorant to reality. I'm even an RN. I wish people were more educated about babies, weight and reality.

You are a doll and now you have a sweet babydoll. Keep her away from the hate and protect her from evil. You know whom I'm speaking of. You have had a long journey but well worth it our sweet Bethany. Please write more books and would love to see a Martha S type show. Every week my girlfriends drink the skinny girls marg and PG for our Ramona. Now we need a Sonja and Alex signature drink. It's our sex in the city, but wish they were all more loving like the SJP and girls. WE boo the crazies off and are so sad that ytou had to shed the much needed tears this season, however we all saw it from the start, even though we saw such small tidbits. We see in real good hearts of Alex, Sonja and Ramona, even though she needs to cut the cord with Jill. My heart breaks for Jill's daughter. It is amazing that all the children seem to do better then the crazy mothers, but it will have long term scars. Bethany Jill and Kelly were sick from the get go, sorry to tell you that.

So happy for her! She is even more lovelier in person. Everyone should have such a friend as honest, loyal and down to earth as Bethany. Wishing you and your little family the best that life has to offer and of course an endless bounty of blessings my friend! Hearts from your forever friend and can I say fan, hehe! C

@katherine - how do you know she's not breastfeeding? And her 'sample' diet, which probably isn't even her 'diet' is a very healthy meal plan - probably not to you at 500lbs in your trailer park in Alabama. Some women can't breastfeed, an formula is perfectly safe and healthy. So STFU!!!

  • June 04, 2010 - 8:52pm lyric

My baby was 3 lbs premie and she is in college and top of her class. I nursed and lost my wieghtin a few weeks probaly because of having her so early but also the stress. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, less any baby. What is wrong with jealous and catty women???? I'm sad for their children. Jealousy is a mental illness get help asap! Poor Freida needs to go to the DR. Start on meds or go to church, ou seem to have a large boulder on your shoulder.

  • June 04, 2010 - 8:42pm lils

OMG she is so beautiful! Congrats on the new lil bundle...she is going to be her minnie me!

  • June 04, 2010 - 7:17pm katherine

She could not be breastfeeding, you cant eat that little of food if you want to produce enough healthy milk. So freakin selfish. Dont have a baby if you dont want to feed it. Formula is CRAP.
