Canadian rocker Bryan Adams is preparing to be a papa for the first time at 51.

The singer confirmed that he and his personal assistant Alicia Grimaldi are expecting their first child, reportedly due in May.

"She (helped) me start my foundation years ago and it looks like she'll be running the family now!" Adams wrote on his personal website Sunday.
The Grammy winner also thanked fans for their "kind wishes."
