Collin Gosselin is paying tribute to dad Jon Gosselin days after unveiling his bombshell memoir about his childhood.
“Happy Father’s Day Dad! @jongosselin1,” Collin, 22, began in a post shared via Instagram on Sunday, June 21. “I love you, and I am so grateful for the bond we share and how we have continued to grow closer and make great memories! You are incredibly hardworking, humble, caring and funny, and loved by all your friends and family.”
Collin concluded, “Thankful for you always 🫶🏼.”
Along with his tribute, Collin shared a throwback photo of Jon, 49, holding him as an infant. He also included a snap from Jon’s 2025 wedding to wife Stephanie.
Jon responded to his son by thanking him in the comments section. Meanwhile, Stephanie wrote, “Ohhhhh, I love this post too! And he loves you more than you know. Although I know you know that already. He’s proud to be your dad. LOVE YOUUU. ❤️.”
Collin also took to his Instagram Stories to wish a happy Father’s Day “to all strong fathers.” He shared a photo of the late Leon Gary Plauché, who shot and killed Jeffrey Doucet, the man who allegedly kidnapped and raped Plauché’s then-11-year-old son, Joseph Boyce “Jody” Plauché, while Doucet was on his way to face trial in 1984. Plauché pleaded no contest to manslaughter and was sentenced to a seven-year suspended sentence, as well as five years of probation and 300 hours of community service, which he completed in 1989. He died at age 68 in 2014.
“This is Gary Plauché, who took justice into his own hands against his son’s rapist and abuser,” Collin wrote alongside the photo.
Collin is one of Jon and ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s eight children, all of whom rose to fame on the 2000s reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8 (later known as Kate Plus 8). The former couple welcomed twin daughters Mady and Cara, 25, in 2000, followed by Collin and his sextuplet siblings Hannah, Aaden, Joel, Alexis and Leah in 2004. Jon and Kate, 51, divorced in 2009 after 10 years of marriage.
Collin’s Father’s Day tribute comes days after Us Weekly exclusively revealed the cover of his upcoming book, titled In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood: a photo of a younger Kate surrounded by her children and covering Collin’s mouth with her hand as he clung to her leg.
In his memoir, Collin is expected to share his truth about growing up in the spotlight, along with new details about his life after reality TV, including his now-estranged and complicated relationship with his mother. (Collin moved in with his father in 2018 after his mother placed him in an inpatient behavioral facility for two years. Kate has claimed that she sought treatment for Collin after he allegedly displayed “unpredictable and violent behavior,” while Collin has accused Kate of trying to punish him for speaking out about her alleged abuse.)
“This book is about truth, survival, resilience and finding my voice after years of being silenced. If my story helps even one person feel less alone or gives them the courage to tell their own, then every difficult page was worth writing,” Collin told Us.
In the Shadow of Eight is available for pre-order now. The book hits shelves on October 13.
