Denise Richards: "It's Sad" Charlie Sheen Was in Jail on Christmas

Denise Richards says daughter Sam, 5, learned her father Charlie Sheen was spending Christmas behind bars from a classmate in her kindergarten class.
"It's sad. It's a sad situation," Richards, 38, said in an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show Tuesday. "Their dad was in jail on Christmas."
Sheen was arrested in Colorado Christmas morning on felony second degree assault charges for allegedly threatening his wife Brooke Mueller.

Eventually "I did have to tell them about their dad," continued Richards, who split from Sheen in 2006 after four years of marriage. They are also parents to daughter Lola, 4.
During their marriage, Richards said that Sheen had "a very sharp tongue, he played on my insecurities."

Even though she admits it was a verbally abusive relationship (which Sheen has denied), Richards said "he never hit me."
Richards was about five months pregnant with Lola when she filed for divorce.
"I was terrified and relieved that I had the courage to do it," the actress said. "Our daughters didn't ask to be born into our conflict....It was impossible to make [our marriage] work."
Now, she is cordial with her ex.
"Charlie and I are in a good place now... It's taken a lot of work on our part," she said.

35why is it sad he's in jail? He's an abuser for Heaven's sake!!! He beat the stuffing out of Brooke and NO ONE deserves to be hit or beaten!! I don't feel one bit sorry for this creep- he is a coward and a control freak- THOSE are the types that end up beating women and children!! Denise should be thankful she and those kids got out when they did!! Brooke is lucky it wasn't worse!! He messed up big time needless to say- and I'm sure his cellmates will be only to happy to beat HIM up in exchange!!! EVEN inmates have the good sense to hate men to beat on women and children- the ONLY smart thing about inmates as far as I'm concerned!!!

Denise Richards is SAD!!! Good god, abusive Sheen is a druggie, not an excuse but understandable. She's just mentally unstable. Did she express sympathy towards Brooke? She's all me, me and ME!!!! Sheen's the last big thing she could get her claws into, so she's milking it for all it's worth....this woman would sell her kids to a pedo if it got her press.....people who care about their kids don't exploit them in the media and she completely undermines the plight of abused women everywhere.
B. Duncan - she did not say the girl was in school the next day...and for others, she said she called Charlie and told him she was INVITED to Oprah's show. We all know that Charlie has a history of bad behaivor and one other gal responed that Brooke would be crazy to go back with him and she is absolutely right.
Isn't this the same woman who was cheating with her BFF Heather Locklear's hubby Richie Sambora while they were still married. So much for her credibility.
Denise is a liar because schools were closed that week. Always looking for publicity and ways to make Charlie worse than he already does.

"I was terrified and relieved that I had the courage to do it," the actress said. IMHO, you don't 'feel terrified' if a husband is merely sharp tongued. She's not telling the truth. She knows darn well Charlie is abusive...and dangerous. You don't hold a knife to your wife's throat in a moment of 'sharp tongued anger'. Give me a break. Brooke is out of her mind if she goes back;it wouldn't take long for her to realize she'd made a huge mistake....less than a week. Abusers can't remain docile for much longer than that.
I think that Denise is one beautiful lady. Too bad soo many women love the Bad Boys. She was his wife also,and the mother of his daughters,so she has EVERY right in the world to tell her side of the past with her Ex-husband! Just my opinion.
ok so it sucks what Charlie has done but WHY PLS WHY does all of a sudden this CHIC show up doing the talk show circuit and talking about this. It is none of her business....she makes me sick and for her to say "now ppl know what I went thru"....get lost this isn't about hag...GAWD
Sheen has a horrible aura about him
Why is it that she is always talking about him in public, yet we never hear him talk about her? She needs to get a life, move on and do something that makes a name for herself with him.
