It's a Girl for James Van Der Beek!

James Van Der Beek has welcomed a baby girl, he announced via Twitter late Monday night.
"Had the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend... Couldn't come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters," he wrote.

The girl, whom he and his wife Kimberly Brook have named Olivia, was born Saturday.
"I apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that may follow," he wrote. "I'm under her spell..."

His biggest hope for his baby girl?
"If I watch football w/ my daughter now, she'll like the sounds of the NFL & want to watch it w/ me when she's older," he joked.

The former Dawson's Creek star, 33, wed Brook over the summer.

congrats to them Love the name Olivia always have. in part because of the long running series the Waltons granted she wasn't originally supposed to be named Olivia. right the actress that played her in the pilot movie insisted she be named Olivia in memory of her daughter that had passed away 9 years earlier aged 7. and the writters and producers weren't going to say no to an oscar winning actress congrats to James & Kelly bet baby Olivia is beautiful
