Meet Matthew McConaughey's new daughter Vida!
On his official website, the actor, 40, and girlfriend Camila Alves have released the first photo of their baby girl, who was born Jan. 3 in Los Angeles (she weighed in at 7 lbs., 7 oz.).
"Our latest family member, Vida Alves McConaughey," McConaughey wrote under the baby's photo.

Alves, who makes her debut as host of the Bravo hairstyling reality show Shear Genius on Feb. 3, tells the new Us Weekly (out now) that the baby "is doing great."

"It's easier with the second child, because, you know what she'll be like," said Alves, 27, who welcomed their first child, son Levi, in 2008.
She said their 19-month-old son is "at the fun stage where he's talking. He loves saying Vida's name!"
McConaughey couldn't be a more doting dad, she added.
Said Alves, "To see a father with his child is beautiful."

Many children are born out of wedlock and survive just fine. In fact, marraige does not make children happy. Happy parents make happy children. Figure it out. Thousands of children are born looooong before their parents get married.

Marriage is overrated
They are VERY clueless Molly! I don't know where they are from but I have NEVER heard of such a place that requires a marriage in order to obtain child support. It must be in their dream world or something. Now spousel support requires a marriage but many states no longer do that as they are no fault states. Of course these religious extremes always INSIST everyone goes by the bible no matter what they belief or it makes them horrid people yet they are forgetting that even THEY are not supposed to judge and they are still supposed to love thy neighbor even if they have different beliefs and calling them names, judging them and things like that are NOT christian like at all. Sounds like they only read what they want to read and only obey the rules they CHOOSE instead of obeying them ALL like they should if they are such wonderful christians as they claim to be. I can't believe the comments from the HOly Rollers on here. The article is about a new baby in an expanding family. A baby is always a blessing. The personal lives of the parents are no one's business. As for child support, some of you are clueless.

I think there is only one reason a couple should marry and that is if they want to have children. The problem with people saying it's no big deal to have children out of wedlock is that a lot of young girls think they should do that. They do and so what if they can collect child support. Who is going to pay it; oh, perhaps the father's parents. Life with the celebrities is not the reality of everyday life for others.
