Tom Brady: I'm the "Only One That Knows" Baby's Gender

Tom Brady clearly doesn't like surprises!
The Patriots quarterback, 32, found out the gender of his baby -- due in December -- even though wife Gisele Bundchen is waiting.

"I'm really the only one that knows at this point," he told Boston's WEEI Sports Radio on Wednesday. "My dad asked me. I haven't told him. [Gisele] doesn't know. It's a pretty good feeling knowing something that no one else knows."

Brady -- who is already father to son John, 2, with ex Bridget Moynahan -- said Bundchen didn't have a problem with his request to find out in advance.
"She's a very intelligent woman. I wanted to find out and she didn't, so she said, 'Go ahead,'" he said. "It will be a surprise for her."

His trick to keeping the secret?
"I always mix it," he said of his use of boy and girl pronouns. "I don't think I've ever slipped. I'm very conscious when I'm saying it."

58Maybe "intelligent" was not the best choice of word, but I gather he means it was "intelligent" on her part not to fight the fact he wants to know st she doesn't. Most couples tend to say: "no, WE don't want to know" or "yes, WE are looking forward to finding out." They have different feelings and both were intelligent enough to respect the other's wishes. That's all folks!

Why do people think he's not an involved father? He went to see him when he was born, then he had to be in Boston for football but went to visit him during the bye week, after the season ended he spent most of the off-season in LA, and after the injury he was with John most of the year. Also, since the football season started in september, John has been brought up here at least twice for a visit. Of course he won't be there every day because he and Bridget aren't together but it seems like he spends as much time with his son as he possibly can. So why do people think he doesn't care for his child at all when clearly he does.

I agree with that Michelle, but I think men should also take responsibility and ideally neither partner should have to tell the other to do anything.
Joanna-ICAM Anon 2009- So you're one of those types who think a man is responsible for his female partner's bodies or birth control? Wrong! As a woman I am the one responsible for my body and my life. I am the one who is to bear and be the primary caretaker for my child. I'm the one carrying the load so to speak. The father can stay or leave, but I will always be the primary caretaker of the child . If I don't want to be a single parent, then it is my responsiblity to be diligent in my use of birth control and not play russian roulette with my body. I don't put myself in that type of position given the numerous forms of birth control we have currently have on the market. Bridget should have been smart enough not to have sex with a man who was on his way out the door, or to insist that Tom wear a condom or use more than one form of birth control when she knew her relationship was ending. Or better yet Bridget should have kept her legs closed. Relationships don't end overnight. When a relationship is on shaky ground a woman should never leave her body at the mercy of a man.
NoPoser- Planning an accidental pregnancy does not make Bridget an intelligent woman.

@Joanna- I'm smart enough to know that he should have worn a condom or kept it in his pants and not had sex with her when he knew he wanted to end the relationship.
Joanna, I'm smart enough to know that men also have a responsibility to take part in preventing unwanted pregnancies!
@Anon 2009- I'm smart enough not dump my fiancee' for a man 7 years my junior who goes in public forums stating he would not marry me, and that marriage for him was years away until his football career ended. I'm smart enough to know that means- "I'm going to get married alright. Probably before I retire. Just not to you!" I'm smart enough to realize I can slip one pass the goalie, but I'll have to sit back and be a baby mama instead of a wife because a baby doesn't keep a man, get a man to return to you, or lead to marriage.
I get so sick of the same argument being used. For the last time- Neither party knew of the pregnancy until they were broken up, and Tom and Gisele were already a couple. He didn't knowingly leave a pregnant woman. He's actively involved in his son's life, and I don't remember him trashing Bridget or John the way Eddie did Melanie and Angel. I hate the double stanadards here. Why was it okay for Bridget to date during her pregnancy, but Tom was suppose give up his relationship with Gisele whom he had been with for months? Sorry life doesn't work that way. Neither Tom nor Bridget had an obligation to cease living their lives once there relationship ended. It's unforunate that a 35-year old woman had an "accidental" pregnancy as a 3 year relationship was drawing to a close, but oh well.
Anon 2009- When did he "walk out" on his child? They all found out about the pregnancy AFTER the break-up. Tom spends plenty of time with his son- he spends his off-season in LA and Bridget or his mom usually bring John to Boston during the football season. As for "showing enthusiasum," its his personal life, he's not obligated to share that excitement with anyone. And from what I remember, anytime it was mentioned in a press conference he had a smile on his face. I hate when people know nothing about a situation but are quick to pass judgement and act all "houlier than thou."
"Just Saying" says: "How is not wanting to find out the gender of her baby makes Gisele intelligent? Is Tom Brady stupid?" He actually said: "Its a pretty good feeling knowing something that nobody else knows, especially her cause she's a very intelligent woman."
Guess none of you have ever seen his soft porn commercial video's running around the web, he's a guber, he could not make it with Bridget because she is intelligent and not just a pretty face if you can even say G-Zel has one:-0 I'm sure within a few years he will bail on this lot too:-(
And I agree with you, Miss. He walked out on his oldest child. Maybe he didn't know about the pregnancy when they broke up, but he didn't have to walk out on his kid and show no enthusiasm for his oldest child's impending birth.
