Victoria Beckham may be difficult to read from a public profile standpoint, but deep down inside, she's dealing with the balancing act called life.

So when the 37-year-old mom of four, who presented a collection at New York Fashion Week Feb. 15, showed up in London on Saturday like a less-polished version of herself, the star had some frank words for her critics.

"Look, if people want to say I'm miserable then so be it," she told the Daily Mirror. "I'm really not. I have a lot on my plate. I'm not going to lie about it, I'm tired. I'm really tired but I'm also very happy with my life."

Beckham, who lives in Los Angeles with her L.A. Galaxy soccer star husband David Beckham and their four children, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 9, Cruz, 6, and Harper, 7 months, has spent the past few weeks jetting to New York and her homeland, England. Along for the ride? Baby Harper.

"I'm not getting much sleep at all," she continued to The Mirror. "Harper's not sleeping that great, and I've been taking Skype business calls throughout the night, too, because of the collections. I'm up with the baby as all mums are, and I wouldn't have it any other way. There's not a team of people doing it for me."

Over the past year, both David and Victoria have been moving full speed ahead with their businesses. Earlier this month, David launched an underwear line at H&M -- his first brand into apparel.

Victoria's new dress line, Victoria Victoria Beckham, just hit stores with its spring collection while her new collection for Victoria Beckham is being reviewed by buyers for the fall/winter.

"I'm basically just like any woman who's working and has lots of children -– it's tough," she added.

Wow! all I hear is "judging, judging, judging". How many mothers with 4 children work full time? A LOT! Its none of our business if she wants to work while raising her young baby. I like Victoria and I applaud her for not allowing a team to raise her children. Victoria and David are living their dream. Anyone old enough to remember the spice Girls knew Victoria loved fashion. Good for them for still wanting to be as close to a normal family as possible!

Boy is this a tough crowd! I don't think she was complaining about her life. She does in fact run a major fashion label and that is a huge job, and it doesn't matter how much money you have. When you add four kids and the pressure of always having to look fabulous or take a beating from the media, well I can see why she might have a few words for the press. I'm sure she IS tired being up all night with a baby and her work and then getting nailed to the wall for looking way better than I do most days, something most of us don't have to worry about. Lighten up ladies!

4 children to raise..... ....... WOW!

  • February 22, 2012 - 2:06pm Keyli Kerr

Jennifer..R U serious? Maybe she works cause thats what she likes doing..Maybe she has goals and doesn't want to sit on her ass all day and get fat like most stay at home moms. I admire her for doing what she loves. I don't know of you know this but getting to your goals with a brand new baby and 3 other children isn't exactly the easiest thing. Any new mother is tired in the first place. Your very ignorant Jennifer to think just cause the husband makes money that the wife doesn't have to do anything.

OK! IGNORANT PEOPLE! Victoria wasnt saying she's a working mom to get your sympathy! she was simply defending herself as to why she didnt look her best in that photo! geez, mamybe she's working because she doesnt want to be lazy! and she has a passion she wants to furfill. she can easily get a nanny to do all the work. but she chooses to raise her kids herself and you guys are Hating?? seriously get a freakin life!!

My issue with this is WHY is she working? Is it because they need the money, then fine, she is doing a great job. Is it what she wants to make a name for herself or keep up an image? Then, her little comments about it being "so hard" or "so tough" leaves me disgusted. If she doesn't HAVE to work to put the food on the table and the roof over their heads, then she has no compassion from me as to it being hard. oh, woe is me the my hobby is so much work.

Sure she has no help at all. I guess she's doing all the sewing, designing at work then coming home to clean up her mansion, doing the laundry, the cooking, ironing, and the dishes right after. She really needs the superwoman of the universe award for that.

Wow, so much hate on here. Why does everyone think that just because they have money that their life is a breeze? Truth is you AREN'T them, so how can you sit there and say how their life really is? Like every other working mother out there she is trying to make it all work out, and I honestly think she is doing a great job.

  • February 22, 2012 - 8:44am Jennifer Kessie DeLury

Most working moms HAVE to work to support their families. She doesnt have to work. They have plenty of money. So shut the f--- up! She is CHOOSING to work. Ugh this drives me nuts. Actresses too! Umm. Wow, so you made 15 million on a movie last year, but you are making another movie this year and sacrificing and stuff. Well, guess what!?! Buy a smaller darn house and cheaper purses you idiots and then you will have plenty money saved and plenty of time for your kids and not be so stressed out. NO pity for you Victoria Beckham. You are an idiot!

i dont think its a case of people not liking her i think its just a bit hard when you hear people with mega millions telling us how hard life is - my mum had 8 kids no help and not much money now she did have it tough. so folks get real

  • February 22, 2012 - 6:49am Bruce McClarron

    Ho hum!!!

  • February 22, 2012 - 3:44am Irene Yong Yoke Ying

Victoria Beckman will be a great mum...this is life with four kids which required your full support as working career mum and kids are very precious to God! Victoria, you can runs your race well with your constant support from your husband by your side! By your designs of clothing, you are a simple lady with good taste of fashion...keep up your standard of being a designer! Yeah show more of Harper and the boys...

  • February 21, 2012 - 9:20am Amanda Dean

Tell 'em Victoria-you can NEVER shut the haters up! If you dumped your children on nannies 24/7 you'd get berated for that too!! Yes, she has tons of money and I'm sure she does have help but she's also very hands on with this new baby like any other new mom along with her 3 boys, a husband and a career! Go Victoria!

  • February 21, 2012 - 1:58am Mary Sanford

OMG haters,y'all give her a break!!!!!!! She makes a livin' and is ALWAYS in her children's lives. That's all that matters.

  • February 20, 2012 - 10:57pm Marie Kemp Bray

    Really?....Who is she kidding??

  • February 20, 2012 - 10:34pm Tina Long

bullsh*t.... she has nannies, i actually interviewed with her and david. they are lovely but come on posh u know the nanny does a lot, stop fronting. and fyi who needs sleep when u have that much money... stop your whining

  • February 20, 2012 - 10:22pm Anna Barsanti-Ventura

Really? She is loaded, her husband is loaded! I do not feel sorry for her at all. Maybe if she wasn't jet-setting everywhere and trying to be a fashion queen, she would have time to parent. UGH

  • February 20, 2012 - 9:56pm Amanda Richard

I dont think she said she was the hardest working mom in the world. I dont know why people have to pick her apart. She is one of the few hollywood momma's who seems to always be with her kids, and taking them to school... She seems to really be a good mother. And after 7 months of horrible sleep... Yah, she will be tired. & adding work to that makes it even harder. I do feel for her, and i wish woman would stick together, and not put other woman down for trying their best...

  • February 20, 2012 - 7:57pm Joanne Godfrey

awww, poor baby...i do not feel sorry for her...the children should be her #1 priority NOT her clothing line...i know many mothers who work much harder than she does with a lot less help...to THOSE women i say CONGRATS!
