No joke was off-limits during Rob Lowe’s Comedy Central roast at Sony Studios in Culver City, California, on Saturday, August 27. The 52-year-old actor’s peers — including Peyton Manning, Ralph Macchio, Pete Davidson, Jewel and David Spade — all came prepared with hilarious NSFW digs — and, somehow, Ann Coulter also managed to become a target of the many burns.
Us Weekly rounds up the five best (and raciest) jokes from the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe, which airs Monday, September 5, at 10 p.m. ET.
1. Pete Davidson Lays Into Ann Coulter
The Saturday Night Live cast member, 22, didn’t hold back when it was his turn to take the microphone on Saturday night. Referencing Martha Stewart’s appearance at last year’s Justin Bieber roast, Davidson said, “Last year we had Martha Stewart, who sells sheets, and this year we have Ann Coulter, who cuts holes in them. Ya racist c--t."
The political commentator, 54, later hit the podium, quipping, “I’d like to welcome everybody to the Ann Coulter Roast With Rob Lowe.”
2. Jewel Teases Peyton Manning
The “Hands” singer, 42, who costarred with Lowe in the short-lived series The Lyons Den, made the audience roar with laughter when she joked about the Manning brothers, saying, “Peyton Manning is here because Eli is still out there making his dad proud.” (Peyton retired from the NFL earlier this year.)
3. Ralph Macchio Takes Down Rob Lowe and Peyton Manning
“Peyton has had so many head injuries [that] he can’t tell how many fingers Rob is holding up … a teenager,” the Karate Kid actor, 54, quipped in a nod to Lowe’s infamous sex tape with an underage girl.
4. David Spade Says What We’re All Thinking
It’s no secret that Lowe is a handsome man — especially not to Spade, 52, who joked, “Rob’s secret for his face looking so good? Having a thousand women sit on it.”
5. Rob Lowe Snipes at Jewel
Once the man of the hour finally got his turn to throw digs at his roasters, he poked fun at Jewel’s music. “After listening to your last album, I think you should go back to sleeping in your car with the engine running and the garage door closed.”
The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe airs on Comedy Central on Monday, September 5, at 10 p.m. ET.
