The Bachelor Jake Pavelka neglected to give away two roses on Monday night's show — so four women were sent home.
The first two sent packing: Ella, a 30-year-old Tennessee hair stylist, and Kathryn, a 26-year-old Kentucky flight attendant.
Jake, 31, had been on a shared date with them. After a quiet dinner at his cabin, he said he felt neither deserved a rose. He told Ella that although she is "truly the complete package," he was "looking for the next 60 years, and I just feel that I'm developing feelings that are just a little bit stronger for some of the other women." His logic for dumping Kathryn: "My heart is just telling me that I'm not that guy," he told her.
As both girls departed, Jake told the camera, "I know in my heart that neither Kathryn nor Ella was right for me," and dramatically threw the roses into the fire.
But the real shock came during the rose ceremony at the end of show.
Jake asked host Chris Harrison if he could bend the rules and send two women home instead of one.
"Do have I have to give out two more roses?" he asked.
Harrison told him he should do whatever he thought was best.
So Jake sent home Jessie, a 25-year-old cosmetic sales manager from Ontario, and Ashleigh, a 25-year-old account manager from Maryland.
Vienna — the 25-year-old Orlando native whom many of the contestant don't like — managed to get a rose, upsetting the dismissed ladies.
"Why Vienna?" Jessie asked. "He shocked everyone in there. … I think he'll regret it."
Snipped Ashleigh, "If he can't see what kind of a person Vienna is over me, then I pity him. There's a reason why she doesn't have any friends in the house."
