Breaking News: Billy Joel's Daughter in Stable Condition

Billy Joel’s daughter was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital in NYC Saturday. Alexa Ray Joel, 23, is reported to be in stable condition after a possible drug overdose.

"She was admitted, and doctors are assessing the situation," her rep tells Usmagazine.com. "We have no further comment."
According to the New York Post, she allegedly ingested a large number of sleeping pills in what police consider a suicide attempt.
Alexa's roommate called police just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Alexa is the only child of the famous musician, 60, and his supermodel wife, Christie Brinkley. Brinkley and Joel married in 1984 before divorcing 10 years later.

I am SO happy that Alexa had a roommate (who found Alexa and called for help.) It would be such a tragedy to lose such a beautiful and sweet young lady like Alexa. Life can be a b*tch sometimes, but there's is always light at the end of the tunnel. Alexa has a loving family, Christie Brinkly lives and breathes for her children. Alexa will she get through this with the help of her parents.
She comes from a dysfunctional family non together. Thats usually a major cause of this stuff. We wish her well. This is the first time i've seen her. She's very cute.

she has been battling with so many issues,being the daughter of the most beautiful models of her decade and a great musician has been hell to her.Christie's unstable marriages has been also a toll on her specially the last one that used to verbally abused her.I wish her the best and consider the talent,inside beauty and most of all bright future she has in front of her.

Gosh! Each and every time a smiley, young, well-to-do person attempts suicide, it seems so shocking and sad. (Any sudden death or attempt is sad, but the horrible, secret feelings that must accompany suicide seem kind of extra troubling...) Hope she will recover and find a way to feel happy and fulfilled.
I wish her the best. Being the child of celebrities certainly doesn't ensure a perfect life. I hope she is able to move forward after obvious difficulty. Going through severe depression is not something I would wish on anyone. Best wishes, Alexa!
