Slam dunk wedding! After a nine-month engagement, Brittney Griner married fellow WNBA star Glory Johnson in Phoenix, Ariz., on Friday, May 8. The couple said "I do" in an outdoor ceremony at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort.
Johnson confirmed the news with a gorgeous Instagram photo of the couple. "Johnson-Griner Wedding…" she captioned the picture Saturday.
The Tulsa Shock player, 24, looked stunning in a sleeveless, floor-length white gown. She wore her hair up and donned a statement necklace and bedazzled headband. Griner, also 24, wore a beige suit and sneakers.
Griner, who plays for the Phoenix Mercury, popped the question in August 2014. The pair's nuptials come just two weeks after they were both arrested for allegedly assaulting each other.
"We're okay! @brittneygriner and I are home, injury-free, and still wedding planning!" Johnson captioned an Instagram pic of the two at the time. "We know we must set better examples, even during the most trying times, and we are EXTREMELY sorry for all the negative attention we brought to ourselves, our family, and the league."
She added: "We are actively seeking help in order to do BETTER. Thanks for all the love, support, and prayers that were sent our way."
