Carrie Underwood Feared Mike Fisher Would Be "Weird"
Was it love at first sight when Carrie Underwood met her future fiance Mike Fisher in October 2008?
The country star isn't saying, but when the pair were set up by friends to meet backstage at a Toronto concert, Underwood fretted about the hockey player.

"I made sure he came in with some other people," she says in the March issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. "I was like, 'what if he's weird?'"

The matchmaking worked, of course: Underwood, 26, and Fisher, 29, confirmed their engagement Dec. 21 of last year. The singer has been flashing her flawless yellow diamond ring by Jonathon Arndt-- worth about $150,000 -- during the current awards season.

Underwood tells Cosmopolitan that Fisher "provided a lot of inspiration for songs" on her new album Play On, "whether it was something he said or just by being supportive."

The busy couple hopes to have their wedding sometime this summer. And though she's got a new tour coming up and just signed on to star in her first film Soul Surfer, Underwood maintains that she wants a work/life balance. "I didn't want to be one of those people who has an amazing career but ends up alone and unhappy," she tells Cosmo. "I want to be happy. I want it all."

6Boy, anonymous, jealous much?? These 2 are a perfect pair! Mike Fisher is one of the great guys! Of all the hockey players out there he's one of the most down to earth, hard working ,sincere guys! I wish these 2 nothing but a lifetime full of love and happiness.
Wow Anonymous, those are pretty harsh words for 2 people that you've NEVER met. Everything that I've ever heard about Mike Fisher is that he's a soft-spoken, shy guy who can often be seen in church with his family and who devotes alot of personal time to kids charities.....and WHAT do you have against Canadians? As for Carrie, she's a beautiful young woman with a phenomenal voice, who is humble enough to know that she wouldn't be where she is without American Idol. Which is why she has appeared on every season finale since she won, and is heavily involved in Idol charities. In every interview I've ever seen her in she's a down-to-earth, honest person with a great sense of humour. I'm happy they found each other, and I wish them all the best...
Well,I can see why they are so perfect together: Carrie is a stuck-up snot who won't give anyone the time of day who doesn't fit into her circle, and Mike ia a stuck-up shallow Canuck who ONLY dates beautiful,rich,famous,blonde,under-30 stuck up celebs with great legs, great tits and fresh eggs......like Carrrie...no wonder he likes her as much as he does- they deserve each other!!!
Now that Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum have surpassed Carrie Underwood, marrying Mike Fisher will keep her in the news, as well as her image being sexier and sexier as time goes by. Carrie is as smart as she is beautiful.Good for her.
Carrie and Mike are such a great pair. I really like them both. They live by example of their values. The photo shoot pictures are gorgeous. There really isn't anything that she can't do. Im looking forward to her acting debut. And being nervous about a blind meeting is perfectly normal. They probably laugh about it now.
US... get your facts right! In the issue before last, you said in the feature about celebs' rings that Carrie Underwood's ring was "worth $800,000." That's a HUGE difference from $150,000! Yikes! Fact-check, anyone?
