Anger Management will mark the end of Charlie Sheen's acting career.
The former Two and a Half Men star tells The New York Times in a new interview that his upcoming FX Anger Management show will be his "swan song."
"When I'm done with this business it's just going to be about soccer games and amusement parks," the 46-year-old father of five, said. He shares daughters, Sam, 8, and Lola Sheen, 7, with ex-wife Denise Richards, and 2-year-old twin sons Bob and Max with ex-wife Brooke Mueller. He also has a 27-year-old daughter, Cassandra Jade Estevez, with his former high school girlfriend Paula Profit. "And when [Anger Management] ends, I'm done. This is my swan song."
Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men in March 2011 after his infamous hospitalization and breakdowns. His redemption show, Anger Management, premieres next Thursday, but the star claims that whenever that show runs its course he'll be done working.
"I've been doing this 30 years. And there's a lot more out there to do than make-believe, you know?" he said. "I mean, I'm grateful. I've got a dream life as a direct result of television, you know? But at some point you just get tired of wearing somebody else's clothes, saying somebody else's words and working in somebody else's space. I'm also aware of the fact that you don't get these kinds of shots in the same lifetime. You're only supposed to have one hit show, unless you're Kelsey Grammer."
The actor recently revealed in Rolling Stone that he's no longer sober. Sheen told The New York Times that he didn't have to agree to drug testing to star in Anger Management.
If the show was worried about their investment in him, then Sheen says, "They shouldn't have hired me. They knew what they were getting. And they know it's not always going to be smooth sailing."
