Daaad! Instead of simply telling her to stop, a father in Spokane, Washington, started recreating his daughter’s sexy selfies for himself. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Chris “Burr” Martin and his 19-year-old daughter, Cassie, laugh about the silly snaps that have since gone viral.
The 47-year-old funnyman, who works in inventory control and also hosts local events, has done it all to emulate his daughter’s social media snaps: he’s donned eye makeup and crop tops, made duck lips and recreated Cassie’s chest and stomach tattoos with an ink pen.
“It’s been pretty funny,” Martin tells Us of other parents’ reactions. “A few have called me a jerk, but I don’t think they get it. We’ve kind of always made fun of each other in our family.”
Cassie, most importantly, appreciates her dad’s humor.
“My dad is a huge comedian in the family so when he did the pictures it was a huge laugh,” she told Us. “The funniest reaction I get is from people my age hoping their parents don’t know how to work the internet so they can’t jump [on] the trend my dad has started.”
Martin’s most dedicated attempt at recreating Cassie’s snaps came on June 21, when he donned a wreath on his head, a choker and a cleavage-baring tank top to reveal his DIY chest tattoo.
“While trying to do it, that branch on my head had tiny little bugs in it I wasn’t aware of. So as I’m sitting there trying to take a photo, I’m wondering why I’m itching so much. It took a few minutes to finally get them all out,” he recalled to Us. “I guess all artists suffer for their craft.”
