DJ AM Laid to Rest

Six days after his death, DJ AM was laid to rest in a private ceremony Wednesday, Usmagazine.com confirms.
Shortly after 3 p.m. PST, guests -- including pal Travis Barker -- began to congregate at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in L.A. for a funeral service honoring the celebrity DJ (real name: Adam Goldstein), who died last week of an apparent drug overdose at the age of 36.
Ocean's 11 star Scott Caan and DJ Jazzy Jeff was also in attendance.
(Reports that Nicole Richie, who is due to give birth to her second child, and Joel and Benji Madden attended the ceremony are inaccurate, a source tells Us.)

The service was held in the mortuary and then moved outside around 4 p.m. A procession of cars followed the hearse to the back of one of L.A.'s most prominent Jewish cemeteries for the somber burial, which lasted 15 minutes.
The Blink-182 drummer -- wearing dark sunglasses and a pin-striped suit with slick-backed hair -- paid his respects and threw dirt on the coffin.
After the burial, Barker and walked among family and close friends.

A memorial for the star is also set for Thursday. The event will take place at the Hollywood Palladium at 7 p.m., and "the format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting," according to the invitation. "Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life, are welcome."

To all you people that are running down someone who does drugs ... unless you have walked a mile in their shoes .. keep your mouth shut . Pray that you never have such a devasting reason to turn to drugs to bury the pain that you feel . You should have compassion for your fellow man... notjudgement. remeber .. life can turn on a dime and you may be next .
He was a good person who was caught up in the web of drugs. It happens to a lot of people - some famous, some not. What's important is not to judge him based on what we know from the media. The media is a money-making machine - it's your own stupidity if you choose to believe everything you're told. Have some compassion for humanity - we all have one life to live and we all live on the same planet and we should try to love each other a little more instead of put people down after they've died.

I agree 100% with NO SYMPATHY. Instead of getting therapy to overcome his fear of flying, the easy out was to get PILLS. How can they rule this an ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE when he had 8 oxy's in his gut, 1 in his mouth (couldn't eat them fast enough)and a crack pipe in his lap. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever or anyone who chooses to do drugs. One less druggie as far as I'm concerned. I guess Travis will now drink himself to death, using the excuse that he's the only survivor or the plane crash.

I was lucky enough to meet Adam and he truly was an amazing soul. Regarless of how he died, he will always be missed.
you know what people say they feel sorry for him dying too soon or before hs time but people get real its his own fault he is dead so why the hell are you so upset !!!its the same with heath ledger people say he should never have died well if he wasnt supposed to die HE SHOULDNT HAVE OVERDOSE ON PILLS !!!!!! i have no sympathy for anyone who takes drugs and then kills themselves as a result !!!!
