Save the date! Ellen DeGeneres wouldn’t let up on her questions about Gwen Stefani’s wedding plans with boyfriend Blake Shelton.
Although the country crooner hasn’t officially popped the question yet, the pair are getting serious and talking about a future together, Us Weekly revealed last month.
“I think he’s so funny, and I’m so glad y’all are so happy,” DeGeneres told Stefani, 46, during her appearance on the talk show on Thursday, September 22. “Before I make plans, because I make plans way ahead of time, tell me when you’re getting married because I need to know. I just need to know so I can clear the schedule.”
A giggling Stefani replied, “Oh you’re crazy. OK, I’ll let you know.” However, the comedian wouldn’t accept that reply. “No, now!” DeGeneres joked, but Stefani played coy and wouldn’t divulge any more details about the possible nuptials.
The singer did open up about bringing her three sons, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 2, whom she shares with ex Gavin Rossdale, on her This Is What the Truth Feels Like tour her this past summer. “It was a magical thing, because I think for me, now that I’m a mother, I really hadn’t toured with the boys,” she said. “I was so guilty because they work so hard at school all year, and then I’m going to drag them around on a bus all summer. They had the best time. Can you imagine three little boys on a bus after you do a show? Like, ‘Get to bed!’ It’s exhausting, but it was fun.”
The boys even helped out their mom backstage during the shows. “The middle boy, Zuma, he was so into it. I had a quick change where I was changing costumes, and he was working it. He had his flashlight, headphones, and he walked me on and off the stage every single night,” she recalled. “For two hours, he worked back there. He was so into it.”
As Us Weekly exclusively reported, Stefani’s sons love Shelton, and the couple are planning to tie the knot soon. “They want to get married before the end of the year,” a Shelton source told Us.
“They are both very, very happy,” the insider added. “Blake is having the time of his life with Gwen and feels so comfortable around her.”
