As previously reported, 5H’s four remaining members, Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke and Lauren Jauregui, announced Cabello’s sudden departure via Twitter and Instagram — revealing that the budding solo star, 19, didn’t even let her bandmates know about her decision to quit in person.

“After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well,” the new foursome wrote. “You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on.”

The lengthy statement continued: “That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony, as well as our solo endeavors.”

The “Work From Home” singers concluded: “We are excited for our future, and we can’t wait for what the new year brings. Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all of our hearts. Love Ally, Normani, Dinah and Lauren.”

Hours before posting, all five ladies, who were formed by Simon Cowell on season 2 of The X Factor, had performed together at a Jingle Ball concert in Miami.

Not long after Dinah, Lauren, Normani and Ally’s joint statement made its way online, the girls’ legions of Harmonizers responded to their message to the departing Cabello. Though many are applauding their bold language and what some consider thinly veiled digs (i.e. suggesting that Cabello is not “strong” or “committed” like they are), others went in on the group’s use of words and stood up for the “Bad Things” songstress.

Cabello, who previously bowed out of a St. Louis Fifth Harmony concert in September due to “anxiety,” has yet to officially address her exit from the group.
