Talk about a warm welcome!
When the U.S. gold-medal-winning gymnasts visited Us Weekly‘s New York City office August 14, the Fierce Five — McKayla Maroney, 16, Kyla Ross, 15, Gabby Douglas, 16, Jordyn Wieber, 17, and Aly Raisman, 18 — received the ultimate surprise midway through the standing-room-only luncheon in their honor.
After the athletes watched pre-taped, personalized congratulatory messages from celebrities like Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Colton Haynes, Honey Boo Boo and Blake Shelton, the gymnasts got the giggles when Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford made an unexpected visit!
“I loved watching you guys compete,” a smiling Crawford, 27, told the Fierce Five.
The good-natured actor even got the gang to imitate Maroney’s famous “unimpressed” expression as they prepped for their evening interview on the Late Show With David Letterman.
Crawford wasn’t the only star to make the team feel special, however. Justin Bieber, 18, followed up his Olympic tweets with bags of swag, and the girls flipped over signed photos from Carly Rae Jepsen, 26, and clothes from Lil Wayne‘s Trukfit line. “It’s cool to get attention from celebrities!” Wieber told Us.
