Shelton, 39, took to Twitter to share a photo of five copies of his love’s new CD lined up in a row, with one more in the background. “I may have gone overboard…,” he joked on Friday, when the highly anticipated disc was released.
Stefani, 46, quickly replied, “Omg!!!! #muse gx,” with a kissy-face emoji.
Earlier in the day, the “Came Here to Forget” crooner took to Twitter to share his excitement for Stefani after her album hit No. 1 on iTunes.
“I am freaking out!!!” he wrote. “Congratulations @gwenstefani!!!!”
This Is What the Truth Feels Like, Stefani’s third solo album and first in 10 years, is jam-packed with lyrics about the couple’s budding romance. The album was originally slated to be a heartbreak album following the “Used to Love You” singer’s divorce from Gavin Rossdale last fall, just months after Shelton split from Miranda Lambert in July.
The No Doubt frontwoman also took to social media to ask fans what their favorite song off her new record was. Shelton replied, “Hey @gwenstefani... My favorite song on your album is ‘Rare’ .. Just thought I’d let you know.”
The sweet Twitter exchange continued as Stefani hinted that the love song — which includes lyrics like “Only a stupid girl would let you go,” and “I can’t believe it, that you even exist” — is about her fellow Voice judge.
“Hummmm really ? Wonder who that one is about ?” she wrote.
