Gwyneth Paltrow says she and Chris Martin have had "terrible times" in their marriage, soap star William Roache is charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in the 1960s, and Kris Kross' Chris Kelly dies at age 34: See Us Weekly's top 5 stories from Thursday, May 2.
Perfection is overrated anyway. Gwyneth Paltrow's life may seem charmed from the outside, but like anyone else, she has her share of problems. Underneath the blockbuster movie career, Goop empire, and designer wardrobe is a real -- and self-admittedly flawed -- married mom-of-two. "It's hard being married," she admits. "You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We're the same as any couple."
Over 40 years after the fact, William Roache was arrested and charged with two counts of rape on Wednesday, May 1, BBC reports. The 81-year-old Coronation Street actor is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in Haslingden, England back in spring to summer 1967, when he was 35 years old. "Having completed our review, we have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr. Roache to be charged with two offenses of rape relating to a girl, aged 15, in 1967," Chief Crown Prosecutor, Nazir Afzal, said in a statement.
Chris Kelly, who became a teen hip-hop star in the early 90s in the rap duo Kris Kross, has died at age 34. Kelly was found unresponsive at his Atlanta-area home, and later died at a nearby hospital on Wednesday, May 1, the Fulton County medical examiner's office told CNN. No further details about his cause of death were immediately available.
Reese Witherspoon is ready to face the music. The Oscar-winning actress is finally speaking out about her shocking April 19 arrest for disorderly conduct in Atlanta -- in which the star, 37, threw a fit at a police officer who pulled over her husband, Jim Toth for suspected DUI. Although she quickly released a written statement shortly after news broke of the bust, the Mud actress has otherwise remained mum on the mortifying incident.
Katy Perry could have filled New York City's Al Hirschfeld Theatre with her tears on Wednesday, May 1 -- and she nearly did. The "Part of Me" singer, 28, was apparently so moved by the Broadway musical Kinky Boots that she broke down in sobs at the end of the show, the New York Post's Page Six reports.
